Cartel Simulator
Cartel Simulator places a young man at the head of his family's damaged criminal empire in a fictional version of 1980s Latin America. Restoring the family name means choosing which drugs to produce, seizing businesses from rival organizations, and building enough influence to survive a violent underworld. His background, skills, and starting allies depend on decisions made during character creation.
The game aims for more than a standard visual novel. Captured properties can be upgraded, soldiers assigned to operations, and vehicles used during attacks before the protagonist dismounts to fight personally. Money, workers, and territory feed into the larger business simulation, while romances and character stories provide breaks from running the cartel. Distinctive renders and lengthy animations give the world a style that stands apart from most Ren'Py games.
That ambition also makes the experience messy. Progress often requires repetitive map clicks, hiring, dating, and money generation, while broken event flags or an unreliable journal can leave the next objective unclear. Several mechanics barely affect anything, and the economy eventually becomes easy to exploit. The story and relationships also stop without satisfying conclusions despite the game being marked complete. There are good ideas buried here, but reaching them can be a real pain in the ass without cheats.
