Moonlight is a free adult detective VN that plays instantly on PC or mobile with no download. A worn-down investigator takes a case in a city where neural implants handle almost everything, even mood and pleasure. The latest app lets people disappear into a virtual world while AI sends their bodies to work. When the app's lead developer dies, the detective starts looking into the technology and the people behind it. There are romances to pursue between leads, with optional sex scenes and choices that can close off other relationships early. The investigation unfolds through dialogue, with some minigames along the way.

The app is a good hook for a mystery. Letting AI borrow someone's body while they relax raises plenty of questions before the investigation even starts. The corporate locations and karting track also get a lot of visual detail, giving the city more to look at between conversations. There are hot women to get close to, and the romance choices give the detective a personal life worth spending time on alongside the case.

Some clues fall into his lap a little conveniently, and the story doesn't always explain its technology clearly. Partner Jack's constant jokes can also be a bit much during serious moments. The renders often look great, though the posing and animations are uneven. If you're into a sci-fi conspiracy with romance and optional lewds, Moonlight has an interesting world to explore. Expect to follow the investigation through its characters rather than solve the case yourself.
