Back to the Roots is a free adult sandbox VN that plays instantly on PC or mobile with no download. After hackers target his company and steal the app he created, the protagonist takes the disaster as a reason to start over in his hometown. Familiar faces and old connections soon make the return more interesting, especially when those reunions start getting sexual. His days involve work, conversations, and following quests around a clickable map. The cast's banter, hot Koikatsu models, and growing harem give him plenty to look forward to while he puts his life back together.

The map is easy to use, and the in-game hints help with finding people and moving their stories along. The women have different personalities and histories with the MC, which gives their conversations something to work with. There are animated scenes, threesomes, and some girl-on-girl content as the relationships develop. The adult content also includes incest themes.

The English can be awkward, and some relationships turn sexual before much buildup has happened. Quest chains also link the girls together, so progressing with a favorite may require spending time with others first. Greyed-out interactions and work requirements can slow things down, but the cast keeps the routine from feeling empty. If catching up with old faces and building a harem sounds like a good way to start over, there's a fair amount to enjoy here.
