Canticle is a fantasy visual novel you can play instantly in your browser on PC and mobile. You arrive at the Lucent Priory as its newest scribe, ready to help create a powerful book of magic. Priory life soon draws you into a murder mystery, where the Brothers you meet may know more than they’re willing to say. You can choose your character’s appearance and backstory, gaining skills and dialogue options that change how you investigate and connect with others.
There’s a lot to read here, but the world’s history, distinct characters, and choices give you reasons to pay attention. Investigations and other small activities break up the dialogue, while trust and optional gay romances add a more personal side to the mystery. Some visuals were made with AI; the storybook styling is striking, though character art and adult scenes can look uneven. Canticle is still in development, so come prepared for an ongoing story.
