My Bully Is My Lover is a character-driven romance visual novel built around a deliberately unusual setup: the protagonist spent his high-school years being bullied, eventually left that period of his life behind, and tried to move forward rather than dedicate adulthood to revenge. Years later, his peaceful routine is shattered when the girl connected to those painful memories — together with several people around her — suddenly becomes part of his everyday life again. The important distinction is that this is not a revenge game. Its story is much more interested in reconciliation, emotional baggage, changing perceptions, and what happens when people who once hurt each other are forced to see who they have become.

That approach gives the game a more dramatic structure than the title initially suggests. Instead of treating the former bully as a simple target, the story gradually expands into multiple interconnected character arcs. Emma, Sky, Klara, Naomi, Moon, Aine, Gwen, Freya and Lily are among the major names repeatedly highlighted in the development history, and later episodes increasingly move these characters from introductions into dedicated arcs, finales, and larger main-story roles. The focus shifts between individual heroines rather than keeping every character permanently competing for attention in the same scene.

The current Chapter 2 material pushes several of those stories much further. Chapter 2 Episode 1 contains more than 1,000 images and 41 animations, introduces Klara's first major arc, begins Emma's final arc, opens Naomi's final arc, and adds a new phone system with substantial side content. Chapter 2 Episode 2 is even larger, listing more than 1,515 images, 21 animations, Emma's final arc, and the introduction to Sky's final arc. The user interface was also reworked, with character information, gallery content, and special images consolidated into a single menu.

Earlier chapters show how gradually the cast was developed. Moon receives multiple dedicated arcs across Chapter 1, Gwen progresses through a second arc, Freya receives her own first arc, Aine's storyline moves through several stages, and Lily eventually becomes part of a larger story branch. The changelog repeatedly separates Main Story Progress from individual character arcs, which is useful because the game is not simply a collection of disconnected romance episodes. Character stories feed into a broader narrative about the protagonist's history and the people now sharing his life.

The production scale also grows considerably as the story advances. Individual updates frequently contain hundreds or more than a thousand new images, while later releases add dozens of animations and large packages of new background music and sound effects. Chapter 1 Episode 4 alone lists more than 1,170 images and 30 animations, while other episodes add 20, 40, or even more new audio tracks and effects. The result is a presentation-heavy AVN with an emphasis on cinematic 3D renders, music, character expressions, phone content, and animated scenes rather than traditional RPG-style mechanics.

Player interaction is mostly built around dialogue choices, relationship progression, route requirements, and deciding which characters to pursue. Earlier versions included a QTE, but the developer later removed it, reinforcing the game's focus on narrative rather than reflex-based gameplay. Certain events and background details are also conditional: one changelog specifically mentions placing Lily's track-related backstory behind a point checker, meaning players who are not following that route do not automatically receive every piece of character information.

The overall tone is closer to an emotional ensemble romance than the revenge fantasy its title might imply. The central question is not whether the protagonist can punish people from his past, but whether living with them forces him to reconsider old memories, understand what happened from another perspective, and decide what kind of relationships he actually wants now.

How to Play: Follow the main story, make dialogue and relationship choices, pursue the heroines whose arcs interest you, check the character and phone systems for additional content, and use the gallery to revisit unlocked scenes and special images.
