A Trip up North

PLAY A Trip up North NOW

A Trip Up North continues Rob and Suzanne's adventures as they travel to northern England to join The Velvet Hand, an exclusive swingers' club. Their visit also has a less leisurely purpose: working with MI5 to infiltrate an arms dealer's organization. Club life and an undercover assignment give the couple plenty to navigate, though their affection for each other remains the heart of the story.

That relationship is the game's most appealing feature. Rob and Suzanne explore together, with each partner taking an interest in the other's happiness. Swinging and sharing are central to the story and remain consensual. Choices let players select partners and decline certain events, with later dialogue reflecting those decisions. The cast also has a welcome variety of ages and appearances, which helps the club feel populated by people with lives of their own.

The presentation relies mainly on still renders, so readers hoping for extensive animation may find it limited. Some players also wish the intimate scenes built more tension. The colloquial British dialogue gives the writing its own voice, while the couple's history adds warmth to returning friendships. Playing The Three Panels and Holiday for Four first provides useful background, especially for those who want to follow how Rob and Suzanne reached this point together.
