Heroes of Celtica

Heroes of Celtica: Dark Druid follows the Scythian, an immortal hero of the Tuatha De Danann who finds himself in an unfamiliar land after a great battle. Warring kingdoms and a nameless evil await him, while his own ambitions may prove just as dangerous. The story draws on Irish and Welsh mythology, bringing legendary figures into an adventure that requires no prior knowledge of their tales.

The branching story is the main attraction. The druid path gives the protagonist room to scheme, use forbidden powers, and pursue influence over the people around him. Decisions can send the adventure in substantially different directions, including military ambition or a search for mythical treasures. There are no sandbox routines or minigames to interrupt the reading, and a replay gallery makes scenes easier to revisit.

The presentation asks for some tolerance. Character models look dated, animations are occasional short loops, and the opening can introduce more names and history than it comfortably explains. The number of branches also leaves some paths waiting for further development. Even so, the unusual setting gives the story a particular charm. Players who enjoy choosing their way through a fantasy tale have more to discover here than the modest visuals initially suggest.
