Kingdom of Passion

Kingdom of Passion returns to Valencia for a prequel to Town of Passion. A mysterious presence has begun draining love from the kingdom, leaving its inhabitants strangely detached. A young prince joins forces with Aphrodite to investigate the disturbance, explore the castle, and restore the feelings being stolen from his people.

The castle is bright and inviting, with puzzles, secrets, and familiar RPG Maker exploration connecting the story events. Relationship building gives the prince reasons to spend time with the women around him, while links to Town of Passion expand the setting for returning players. Siren also has a reliable history of finishing projects, which makes the game's ongoing development easier to trust than many early adult RPGs.

The exaggerated character designs will divide players, though. The women are thick as hell, with enormous curves that suit the fantasy but can look overly doll-like beside the cleaner artwork of earlier games. The writing and romance are also fairly basic, leaving some scenes without much emotional heat. There is charm in returning to Valencia, though the adventure will need stronger character moments to make the mystery as memorable as its women.
