FOXXX takes place a thousand years after the universe's first planet-destroying weapon was fired. Its protagonist is a recently banished fox cadet assigned to uncover secrets left behind by an old war while escaping a forgotten enemy. Death is rarely the end of his mission, since the cloning tank aboard his ship can place him in a fresh body and send him straight back into trouble.

Each planet has its own setting, fetish, and collection of terrible outcomes. Clear warnings help identify the content without pulling the player out of the universe, while unwanted planets can be skipped entirely. The cloning premise also allows abandoned versions of the protagonist to remain behind, opening follow-up scenes that reveal what happened after one of his bad endings. That gives failure more personality than a basic game-over screen.

The game is almost entirely text, with few images and only light mechanics connecting its routes. Its concise writing gets to the horny shit quickly, but some of the more interesting planets and fetishes receive only a brief scene before the story moves on. Bad endings can also stop just as they become interesting. Players comfortable with interactive fiction will find a huge range of unusual material, though anyone expecting illustrated scenes or a complex gameplay loop may find it closer to a library of erotic outcomes.
